Weird: Pelosi Doesn’t Want to Release Her Tax Returns
Democrats are still relentlessly pursuing one of the most boring things imaginable: President Donald Trump’s tax returns. The Supreme Court ruled against Congress this week, saying there was no legitimate legislative reasons to look at the president’s returns.
There is an easy way for Democrats to score some major points in a popularity contest against Trump. They could simply agree en masse to release their own tax returns. But that ain’t happening!
Nancy Pelosi was asked if she’d release her returns as a show of good faith, but she refused, stating that she is “not running for president.” Uh huh.
As this meme notes, a smarter idea would be to check the tax returns of politicians who become millionaires. The Trump-hating Republican Senator Richard Burr, for example! (NOT AG Bill Burr)
Burr is currently under investigation for insider trading after he dumped his hospitality stocks months ago – the day he received a classified briefing that coronavirus was headed to America.
Burr’s net worth in 2015 was reported at $3.1 million. In 2018, his net worth had jumped up to $7.4 million – more than doubling in three years. It’s probably even higher today. We should be asking for everyone’s tax returns in Washington.
