There was a time, you did community service, by serving on a committee or running for a local office.   It was once, considered an honor.  Now-a-days, you have to be a tad bit crazy to even consider it.   The public criticism……which has become more than just that, you, your family could be threatened.  I believe this is one reason good people choose to stay away from serving their community, state, even country.   Why put yourself through all that?  It is one of only many reasons why, elected officials today have…….well, lets just call it character flaws.   Or money, and only money got them there.
