This verse is a bit puzzling to me, “………let him not leave us,…..”. Sounds like doubt, why the doubt? Or it’s just a way of saying He never would.

My take is that it is talking about our choices that injures our connection to God, like drugs, the Covid vaccine that disconnects people from their soul, etc. God will always be there, but do we acknowledge that fact and reach back?
