Seriously, as beautiful as it is, I am not that far out in the country to see it’s true beauty, but it can STOP NOW. From about 5 AM (Central Standard Time) until now 11:30 AM it has snowed 2-1/2 inches (St. Charles, Missouri). Last year the entire year around these parts never had that much accumulation, as far as I remember. It is still coming down rather heavily. It isn’t exactly a blizzard but it shows no signs of quitting very soon. My lawn guy is waiting until tomorrow to come shovel this white stuff!

So, climate change activists?? This is called the Winter season. It has distinct changes and differences from the other three seasons. Key word …….CHANGE. Those are cycles, with weather patterns! We not only have through time gone through such cycles consistently but the planet has gone through some pretty dramatic changes…….CYCLES from the beginning of time. Ask the dinosaurs! There is no way to stop it, except to blow it up. Stop trying to change something God created just because!!!

The best thing we can do is, CLEAN UP THIS PLANET. I took an hour drive last week, and saw way too much litter. Trash along the highway. Missouri is a beautiful state, stop trashing it. PICK IT UP! Our waterways are just as bad. Your old refrigerator does not belong in one of your nearby rivers. And California………what the HELL! I saw the trash along your railroad tracks. I know thieves and homeless etc. did it……..but pick it up, haul it off and don’t dump it in the Pacific Ocean!

There! That is my annual rant on LITTER! I hate it! We need to use more resources cleaning up this planet and keeping it clean than on climate change!

Update on the snowfall……..It is 4:30 PM Central Standard Time here in Missouri and it is still snowing, has been since at least 5 AM. 5 inches accumulation. Yeah, I don’t know when the last time we had this much. And……..it’s still coming down.

arlin report thought(s) of the day: spontaneous blogger

I am so glad I am NOT keeping track of people in the news media (along with their guests they interview) that sneeze or cough into their hand(s). I would have lost track by now. But, don’t you just love people who lecture you to take up certain behavior or change habits that they can not, refuse or fail to do? I know bad habits are hard to break……cure! 🙂

Sometimes my thought(s) of the day comes later in the day, not always upon waking. In fact, I’ve had some “thought(s) of the day” come just before I decide to hit the sack for the night. If that happens and it is beyond midnight (early AM hours) I just save it for the new day. Some days I post nothing on “thought(s) of the day”. Nothing really strikes me those days or I am in repeat mode. Thank goodness for current events. I will say this about most of my posts, those that I actually write, not the re-postings of others; I may be the most spontaneous of all bloggers/writer(s ?) that you read. Kind of like this post here! I don’t really pre-plan many of my blogs (not always). The danger in that is; I may occasionally wish I had said something a little differently or maybe not at all. But its a report you say? Yes I do search material of others and on many topics, experts and people with opinions and share it. I usually have an opinion or two or comments on all. Not sure why I am writing about this at this point, maybe I am just looking to make my posts (including “thought(s) of the day”) more interesting. What do you think?

As you probably know if you read my blogs the “ARLIN REPORT THOUGHT(S) OF THE DAY” is not the only blogging article I write. I will often write articles, usually opinion that are more than just a thought for the day……..maybe on something I have more to say on the topic; like litter. I am anti-litter (I hate litter and litter bugs). It drives me crazy, especially along roads and highways where the opportunity exists for people that have no respect for natural beauty. STOP LITTERING!

Stay healthy!

Out in the picturesque country just east of Lake Thunderbird, dotted along the side of the road you’ll find personal ads, political messages…and trash, lots of it. “One thing that we noticed consistently since we’ve been here,” noted Jarryd Robinson, who lives off Harrah Rd. “People just tend to throw stuff out.” Small cans and…

Litter drives me crazy as well……problem not just Oklahoma!   Amazes me why so many disrespectful people could care less they trashing our beautiful countryside.   Disgusting people!

I’d like to get something off my chest…….something that has weighed heavily for quite a long time.  Litter!  I believe it’s a serious problem, but one that should be an easy fix for the most part.  I’ m not talking about toxic dump sites, that’s a much greater issue and for another time.  My gripe is the trash along the highways and waterways.

I can’t drive down the highway without looking at and looking for trash strung along the way.  I know the problem is greater in some areas of the country than others, but I believe it can be  improved everywhere.

I’m from the beautiful state of Missouri, but to be honest I believe it would make the top 10 list of the most trashed states in the country.  Maybe I’m being overly critical of Missouri only because I know it could look even more beautiful.

Along the highways the site of paper bags from the fast food restaurant you just left lies along the side, right where you left it.  Pull up to an intersection and you’ll find evidence where cigarette smokers have passed.  Some people toss their garbage and trash out just to get it out of their vehicle.  They have more pride in their damn truck than they do the land.

I don’t have to go on and on with examples, you’ve all seen it, somewhere.   Doesn’t it make you sick or just a little disgusted?  Just picking up the litter you come across, and not adding to it would make such a difference.  I know that occasionally you’ll see organizations and volunteers, God bless them, strolling along picking up what they can.   This just isn’t enough, more can be done.

There are benefits to controlling our waste that we should be taking  more advantage of; let alone what it does for our environment.   More recycling, simply beautifying our land…..possible disease prevention.  I’m not an expert on all the benefits we could gain by any means and hopefully I am not coming across like I think I am.   It is a problem that troubles me.

Remember the old TV commercial with the Indian Chief, a tear running down his cheek, standing, looking over his polluted and trashed country?   This is our land, our county and we must all do more to take better care of her.

I was hoping I would feel better venting, but now I must go to bed depressed.  Thank you anyway.
