EPHESIANS 6:4

I love the photo above, reminds me of my grandchildren.

I am going to be away for a few days and will not be posting anything. I know some others post Bible verses as well.

Going to just west of Chicago for a few days. Will be celebrating my 70th birthday there with some friends. Nothing special planned (since they closed our favorite horse racing track there).

70th is big for me. My father died of heart issues at 67 (In 2000). My grandfather died of a heart attack at around 65. So, this is an accomplishment. I keep good track of my heart, having had my aortic valve replace 3-1/2 years ago. Doing great, knock on wood. Hopefully not the wood in the trees today. Off to play golf for now.

See you when I return on the 22nd. We just happens to be my birth date (8/22/1952). Who would have thought I’d make this far.

ARLIN REPORT THOUGHT OF THE DAY: OUR CHILDREN……….AND PETS

We do and will suffer from our own stupidity.   That is true on a personal level as well as a nation as a whole.   The Intel community isn’t always intelligent as we are witnessing.    Our self-centered elected officials are chosen to lead, but we struggle to find leaders.

We rant and rave without knowing truth.  We sit on our heels when we think we do, but don’t or we are too naive with……..”oh they don’t do that” or “that’s just crazy”, “that’s outrageous” or “you’ve been watching too many Jason Bourne movies”.    The problem is and I understand this, “who can you believe anymore”?    Everyone in Washington lies about something.   Somethings, we shouldn’t know……but gets leaked.  Leaking has become the rage, a fad.  LIES are often leaked, purposely………truth is leaked, but can you tell or know the difference.   Not when you have people on the inside that are against you, left overs.    Left overs are good for a while, but must be tossed out eventually.  Don’t take too long to do it, it will contaminate all that is good and you are left with a bad smell.   That smell is hard to get rid of.

Trump should clean House.

What we leave our children is in our hands, our responsibility……we need to act responsibly and hold each other accountable.   That especially includes those called upon to lead.   We each can be like a string, strung together to form a strong rope for the future of our children ………and pets, their part of the family.

ARLIN REPORT THOUGHT OF THE DAY: PAY BACKS AND FAMILY

You’re the child, you have parents (most of us do).  Then you have children and you’re the parents.  Your parents become the child and you parent your parents; maybe your brothers and sisters; possibly on down the line.   Pay backs can be hell, but most importantly, you are a family.   Take care of and love one another.  That would be a good start, for a peaceful world.

JESUS AND THE PATH BACK HOME

I am a Christian, was raised Protestant and converted to Catholicism on my own, no one led me there.  I am not a preacher or teacher of the Bible or of Jesus.   I believe strongly in both.  With all that is going on in the world, a question that constantly comes up or to mind  “What would Jesus do?”  We ask that for our own guidance when we are uncertain or pulled in multiple directions with no easy answer and maybe lost for solutions and worried what the future holds.

There is no burning bush talking to me.   I may feel Jesus presence, but He is not visibly sitting at my table answering my many questions.  He would probably tell me “He has already given us the answers.”

Children from Mexico, South and Central America have been migrating here by the thousands.  Its been frequently written of all the problems they bring with them, there is no need to repeat it here; by now you’ve heard it all.

They are children.  I am not talking about the teenage gangs here.   That is another article.   I am concerned about the children that have been sent here by their families back home.  The children that are lost, ill, hungry, tired, scared and homeless because they may have been forced our way.

Americans, the most generous of people.  No nation gives more than we do.  The people of our nation do not want to see children suffer, but how much can we take.   We have problems of our own.  We can not always be the answer for the world.

So, what would Jesus do?  I believe He would expect us to take care of our family first.  How can we take care of others, when we struggle.   We have jobless, homeless, sick and hungry that need help.   We place, excuse the word but, outsiders before our own?

The children are at the border and yes they must be dealt with.   We should do what we can.  Would Jesus ask them, why did you leave, abandon your families?  Would he heal them, cloth them and give them food?  When they were rested, would He show them the path back home?
