The improbable return, the one player that teed off on Thursday that would not likely make the cut, will tee it up on Saturday (today) at the Masters! While well back at +1 and chasing a -8, Friday is moving day at Augusta National. Who knows better than Tiger Woods what one must do on Friday to get back into contention for Sunday?
Woods, must post one of the best scores today to have any chance to chase down down the leader for what would be his 6th Green Jacket. Improbable? Yes, but so was just being on that first tee on Thursday. So was posting a -1 on the first day. So was fighting back after a +4 start on the front nine on Friday to post a +2 (total of +1) and so was to make the cut. As Gary Koch would say Tiger once again was “Better than most”! Tiger is tied for 19th to start the day today. With 2 days left (Friday known as moving day at the Masters) crazier things have happened in golf. AND THIS IS TIGER!
Nearly half the field that started on Thursday went home yesterday. Tiger is still standing, or I should say still walking! Walking a difficult windy and soft course that is hard enough in perfect conditions was going to be and still is, his greatest challenge. Is he capable of posting the best score of all those still in it? Yes! Will he? I am not going to say no, he has already done more than expected. What we expect to see is not the same as what he expects to do. Regardless, Tiger is back!
