CEDAR HILL, MO (KTVI) – As we recognize those who fought for our country on this 70th anniversary of D-Day, a Jefferson County community is mourning the loss of a young soldier.  Private First Class Matt Walker, who served in the 101st Airborne Division, was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan.

His best friend, Daniel Nixon, says Walker never had a doubt he wanted to be a soldier, just like his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather before him: “He had planned ever since he was a little kid. It was something he was proud to take on for his name. He was proud to be the next one in the family, to serve for our country.”

His friends say he was a selfless person, a mentor, and a leader.  Walker graduated from Grandview High School in 2012, where he loved playing football.  He is survived by…

The Bold and the Beautiful

I am excited and also somewhat apologetic that the first thing I’m going to throw out into the blogosphere is going to probably offend someone.  But when it comes down to it, that is pretty much the type of blog you’re entering into.  One that is going to touch on subjects that many people avoid.   Doing that is bound to offend someone.  So, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

We are coming up on another election cycle. This one will be the first one in a while that does not have Ron Paul somehow involved in a race someplace. Ron Paul had an ideology and message the last time he ran for the nomination for president that many young people found very attractive. Ron Paul seemed to tap into some sort of energy source when he ran, but he is now out of the running and I don’t see anyone on the horizon that comes close to supporting the ideas of the Classical Liberals as Dr. Paul did.
