Progressive policies have not benefited anyone but politicians
From the Merriam-Webster dictionary, progressive means: “a: of, relating to or characterized by progress; b: making use of or interested in new ideas, findings or opportunities; or c: of, relating to or constituting an educational theory marked by emphasis on the individual child, informality of classroom procedure and encouragement of self-expression.”
Gene Shelton, in his Jan. 10 Letter to the Editor, describes himself as a Progressive. When defined as a noun, progressive means: one believing in moderate political change and especially social improvement by governmental action.
This may be the definition that Mr. Shelton is thinking of, but, in the words of Inigo Montoya in “The Princess Bride,” “You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”
