Early last week, during a work day, I went to lunch at the cafe in the our bank building. It was around 12:20 PM, the cashier informed me there were “already 5 (FIVE) shootings in downtown St. Louis today, before noon. One two blocks from the bank.
Then Friday evening, after leaving the Cardinals/Mets baseball game, as we were walking to the parking garage I made a comment, half-way joking about “everyone leaving early (Top of the 9th) thinking they can get out to get ahead of a shooting following a game.” We learned when we got home, on the late news, a shooting occurred just a few blocks from the stadium at the Metrolink (Union Station), just about the time I made the prediction. One man killed was killed, another wounded.
These are easy predictions, its become daily life in St. Louis.
