ARLIN REPORT THOUGHT OF THE DAY: CALL IT WHAT IT IS!

Devices planted to explode in public places….and it matters not who set them, is an act of terror.   It is intentional and motivation does not matter.    It is an act of terror whether international or domestic.   The political figures not willing to state the obvious are morons.

  1. I don’t hear anyone questioning the nature of a terror attack–any reluctance to be specific is based on the question of what kind of terror attack–ISIS or otherwise. And that question is only germane in terms of tracking down the source of the threat. People seem to forget that terrorism is also criminality–at root, these are crimes as much as they are anything. Gun violence, too, is criminality–school shootings are only ‘terrorism’ because of the horror we feel towards these acts. People using guns and bombs (and knives) need to be taken down or taken out–their motives only really matter in terms of the investigative clues they provide. Outside of that, the labels we use are unimportant.
