When I used to Live in the Fan Fran Bay Area, I was shocked at the number of homeless people , so many people no body to care for them. I befriended a man who told me his name was Whitney Hash. He was homeless had a three legged cat named tri-pod and he slept in a flower bed on the heater vents of a high rise in the financial district. He had a member ship at the gym in our building but not to work out. It was so he could shower every day. We met for lunch every day for about a year. One day after hearing a story about how he was raped by other homeless men which I found out was quite common among the homeless. I gave him a knife. One day he did not meet me for lunch, the next day again he was a no show I called the county morgue Asked them if they had a body fitting his description? They did, I went to see and it was him. His name was not Whitney Hash it was Greg Evans The coroner was trying to locate his family. I remembered he told me his father owned a car dealership in Amarillo,TX but that was all I knew. about a month later my phone rang and it was his father Thanking me for providing what information I had to the coroner.I still have the card from his funeral as his dad brought his body back home. His dad also sent me a check for helping and being Greg’s friend. I still have that as well I never cashed it, nor have I ever forgotten the friendship he and I shared.
There is a blog here> https://gottafindahome.wordpress.com/ This guy has an addicting blog and he has not forgotten about the homeless and those society has forgotten about. Dennis Cardiff writes the blog and has a very good book out as well.
